Siendo el primer viaje de Tom y Amy a la India, decidieron de recorrer Kerala y Tamil Nadu en el sur de la India. El sur de la India es muy rico en cultura, historia y arquitectura. Kerala y Tamil Nadu también están ricos de hermosas playas, remansos y plantaciones de té.

Prefirieron visitar dos estados en el sur (partes de Kerala y Tamil Nadu). En Tamil Nadu, Tom y Amy querían visitar Pondicherry (una antigua colonia francesa). También visitaron Madurai, la capital cultural del sur de la India y Tanjore, una ciudad famosa por su arquitectura.

Tom y Amy también querían pasar una parte de su viaje explorando el hermoso estado de Kerala pasando un tiempo entre las plantaciones de té de Munnar, los remansos de Kumarakaom y la hermosa ciudad de Kochi.
