Visiter Kolkata –  est une ville située sur très à l’ouest du pays. Marquée par l’histoire, elle semble appartenir au passé sur certains points mais peu à être à la pointe de la modernité pour d’autres. Souvent surnommée  « capitale culturelle » de l’Inde, cette ville est également un labyrinthe social dans lequel on aime se perdre.

  Voilà quelques faits intéressants à propos de – Visiter Kolkata

  1. Du point de vue géographique, elle est la deuxième plus grande ville de l’Inde (après New Delhi).
  2. C’était le centre administratif pendant la colonisation anglaise de l’Inde.

  1. C’est un paradis pour des bibliophiles: La bibliothèque de Kolkata est la plus grande de tous le pays et College Street est le deuxième plus grand marché aux livres du monde. On dit souvent que si vous n’arrivez pas à y trouver pas un livre en particulier, c’est qu’il peut-être pas dans le monde!

  1. Pour les fans de cricket, Eden Gardens à Kolkata est le troisième plus grand stade dans le monde.

  1. Calcutta Football League est le tournoi de football le plus vieux du pays. Il fut crée en 1898. Le Salt Lake Stadium est le deuxième plus grand stage de football dans le monde.
  2. C’est une des rares villes en Inde où il existe encore un tramway!
