Joanna and Alejandro had already explored North India on their first trip to India. On their second trip, they wanted to try something different and go off the beaten path. We were more than happy to recommend the unexplored Northeast. Very few travellers choose to visit the Northeast during their time in India, but those who do are glad they did. Let us tell you why.

Why go there?

The Northeast consists of seven small states. Each one of them has a unique culture. The environment is lush and the food is delicious. Since it’s relatively undiscovered, it’s also quite affordable. You have various options as you can go trekking, sightseeing, rafting, or just idle away with a mug of millet-beer. The region has very friendly locals and some interesting tribes. It’s a perfect destination to get to know the people and their rich culture and heritage.

Alejandro and Joanna chose to visit one of the seven sisters, the beautiful state of Sikkim. They also travelled to Darjeeling and Kolkata in West Bengal and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Being on a budget trip they stayed in a combination of homestays and hostels and used local buses and trains as their main mode of transport.

What they felt

Here’s what Alejandro had to say: “I had the best of the experiences travelling with the company, the hotels were always excellent.”

If you’re looking for an exciting off-beat adventure, then the Northeast is for you. We can customize the trip to your budget and length of stay and your preferences. You can even choose a more active trip which includes trekking and other adventure sports. So don’t hesitate to get in touch with us to plan your personalized trip.
