Tamil Nadu is rich in natural beauty. The lush hill stations of Ooty, Kodaikanal, and Yelagiri, the Kolukkumalai tea plantations producing some of the finest tea in the world, and the stunning Servarayan Hills, Sirumalai peak, and the Kalvarayan Hills are perfect for nature lovers. The diverse wildlife of the region thrives in its nature. Visit the Anamalai Tiger Reserve, Kalakad Mundantharai Tiger Reserve, Crocodile Park, and Guindy National Park. A deeply spiritual state, Tamil Nadu has many ancient temples dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries. The Shore Temple in Mahabalipuram, Brihadeeswarar Temple in Thanjavur, and Meenakshi Temple in Madurai. Other religious places of worship like Santhome Cathedral and Basilica, St Stephen’s Church, St Xavier’s Cathedral, and Thousand Lights Mosque showcase the different faiths of India.

Tamil Nadu also has a flourishing art scene – dance forms like Bharatnatyam, Karakaatam, and Kuthu, and Carnatic music adorn the culture of the state. The Tanjore painting style is famous all over the world, while the region’s mastery in art reflects through intricate carvings and sculptures, and bronze works.

The vibrant culture of Tamil Nadu is evident in its festivals and events – be it Pongal, Puthandu, Natyanjali, Thaipusam, or Karthigai Deepam, the state knows how to safeguard the traditions and heritage of the country while enjoying the festivities to the fullest.

The state also offers a delicious cuisine, with rice, coconut, and lentils being the staples. Traditionally served on banana leaves, idli, dosa, vada, sambar, and coconut chutney are some of the most popular vegetarian dishes of India, while non-vegetarians have some amazing options in seafood, chicken, and mutton. To learn about the history and culture of India, visit Tamil Nadu, a place where heritage is preserved, and modernity progresses!
