The winter season is the best time to visit Lucknow. From October to March, pleasantly warm days and cold nights take over the city, with temperatures ranging from 7 to 25 degrees Celsius. This is the perfect time to explore the rich heritage of the city through its historic monuments, beautiful museums and palaces, and other outdoor attractions.

Visit the Bara Imambara, Chota Imambara, Rumi Darwaza, and Lucknow Residency, showcasing the history of Lucknow. To escape the crowds, visit Janeshwar Mishra Park or Ambedkar Memorial. For shopaholics, the Hazratganj Market and Chowk and Aminabad are must visit. Buy textiles like Chikan-embroidered clothes, jewelry, perfumes, and handicrafts from these local markets.

For food lovers, Lucknow is one of the best places to be in. known  for its delicious Mughlai and Awadhi cuisine, you must definitely try the local dishes such as kebabs, biryani, nihari, and chaat. The Lucknow Mahotsav is also held in this season.

Summer season in Lucknow (April to June)

Summer is an off season for tourism in Lucknow. From April to June, the city experiences an extremely scorching and dry climate with hot winds and temperatures reaching up to 45 degrees Celsius. This weather can make sightseeing difficult, which is why tourists do not prefer to visit Lucknow during the summer season.

However, if you do visit Lucknow during summer, early mornings and evenings are comparatively cooler, which is when you can step out to do some sightseeing or shopping. Summer is the mango season here, so you can indulge in some delicious mango dishes in the city. Eid is also celebrated with great pomp in Lucknow.

You will get fewer crowds and discounts in accommodations in the summer season due to the extreme heat. Wear loose, breathable cotton clothes, sunglasses, and a hat or a cap. Apply plenty of sunscreen and carry a bottle of water to stay hydrated throughout the day.
